Fizzy Living

It’s all about Poplar!

It’s so good to see Poplar being recognised as a commuter hotspot and an all-round great place to live! Fizzy is delighted to be featured in an article about this booming neighbourhood in the Metro newspaper:

Our lovely tenants at Poplar have kindly shared some hidden gems and their tips on this thriving East End hub:

Ayo Afolabi

“Poplar has fantastic public transport links that will take you from one side of London to the other. – DLR, Jubilee Line and several bus routes (15, 135). We are a 10 minute walk from Canary Wharf which is great, as there are plenty of interesting places to eat and drink there too.

My favourite restaurants nearby are Noodle Street in Poplar, Royal China and Scoff & Banter. Rum & Sugar, between Poplar and Canary Wharf serves a good drink or two…!

There are loads of things to do in Poplar –we’ve got quite a few parks nearby for a run or kick around, weather pending of course! Bartlett Park is directly opposite Fizzy Poplar which is really convenient. Walking or cycling along the Limehouse Cut is really relaxing and it takes you all the way up to Victoria Park and the Olympic Park!

Fizzy tenants are lucky to have free access to the New Festival Quarter gym onsite but there are loads of gyms in the vicinity to choose from; LA Fitness, Virgin Active, or for something a bit tougher there is a Diesel Gym!”

“The Chrisp Street market in Poplar is excellent. I buy all my fruit and veg there are as they’re great quality and you’ve got a wide variety to choose from. It’s also half the price than supermarkets and grocers. The market stall sellers will often throw in more exotic items like Pomegranates if you buy a lot.

We enjoy walking along the canals on a Sunday afternoon. There’s a great family run place called Palmers restaurant that do an amazing roast Dinner, the Pork Belly & crackling was incredible & the portion size was ridiculous.”

Laura Stannard, “Bob” at Fizzy Poplar

“The Museum of London Docklands is just a 10 minute walk from Fizzy Poplar. It has some really interesting exhibitions on the history of the local area. It’s lovely, peaceful and serves delicious coffee! A hidden gem in Poplar I’d say!”
