It’s a well-known fact that loneliness affects our health and well-being. According to the Office of National Statistics’ Opinions and Lifestyle Survey, more people in the UK became lonelier either ‘always’ or ‘often’ from October 2020 to February 2021 due to the pandemic, lockdowns and social distancing measures. That’s one of the reasons today, developers are looking to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria when building, and at Fizzy Living we are no different.
From a social perspective, we ensure our residents and their pets can have as much interactions with their neighbours as they want. Here are just some of the ways our space and services incorporates all things social.
1. Community-driven BOBS
Our BOBs are dedicated property managers based at every development and at the heart of the Fizzy ethos. They are involved with building defects, flat repairs, and have also been known to water plants or feed the cat when residents are away. They’re also critical in creating the 10-year strong Fizzy community by planning events and initiatives encouraging residents to connect.
2. Fizzy socials
At Fizzy we love a get together, and now things are opening back up, our spacious communal areas will get busy. Over the years, we’ve held summer BBQs in our outside spaces, landlord vs tenant’s football matches and seasonal parties. For more details on our next events speak to your in-house BOB.
3. Communal spaces
We don’t just have space for you to live. At Fizzy there’s lots of communal areas at our developments from yoga rooms for fitness fanatics to workspaces for those who don’t want to face the commute. At our most recent development Fizzy East16 in Canning Town, The F Club offers space to unwind like at the large rooftop terrace, work or play in the games area that includes a ping pong table and putting area for some mini golf. Even the dogs have a Pawder Room, ready for their groom! That’s because we know you might not always want to sit inside at home but meet your neighbours too.
For those who still need to connect online, recognising how vital good digital connectivity in homes is to the way we live, and also now work, we have recently become the first build-to-rent operator to commit to and achieve a WiredScore Home rating for superfast broadband across our entire portfolio.
5. Rental fees
When it comes to having a social impact we understand the changing needs of renters, especially during the recent pandemic. We were one of the first built to rent companies to introduce a three-month initial term instead of the six-month standard and new residents at East16 will also be able to take advantage of flatfair’s ‘No Deposit’ solution, doing away with the traditional, costly deposits and replacing it with a smaller, one-off check-in fee.
Fizzy Living is all about increasing human interaction and allowing our tenants to truly feel happy and at peace. Come and find your Zen!
